What Executor Lock™ is
Executor Lock™ is Idy's patent-pending governance technology for any AI built from a real person. It settles four questions in advance: who may use that AI, what it may say and do, who takes over when the person can no longer act, and whether anyone can ever change who they are. The answers are agreed in writing by the people involved and enforced by the platform itself, not by a policy page somebody can edit, because a rule enforced by code outlives the person who wrote it. It runs under Timeless AI™ and Afterlife.ai™, and under the products of the firms that bring digital twins and digital legacy to their clients.
Why the link is missing
A few hours of conversation and a voice sample can now build an AI that talks, advises and sells like you. The rules for consent and privacy never caught up. We read the full terms of nine AI twin platforms, about 85,000 words, and not one names an executor or an heir; five of the nine reserve the right to delete inactive accounts, and the account of someone who has died is, by definition, inactive. A Lehigh University audit of 93 AI "afterlife" services found that 82 publish little or nothing about who has consent or authority over a recreation. And when the company goes, the twin goes with it: Soul Machines went into receivership in February 2026 and was sold in September under terms that let contracts pass to a buyer without customer consent, and HereAfter AI has been offline since August.
When people decide, their wishes hold
James Earl Jones licensed his voice for one character two years before he died, and nobody had to guess what he wanted. Robin Williams put his likeness in a trust that bars commercial use for 25 years. Anthony Bourdain left no instructions, his voice was recreated for a documentary, and his estate ended up arguing about it in public. Jones and Williams needed lawyers to protect one voice or one image. Executor Lock™ gives anyone the same protection over a whole identity, in an afternoon.
What Executor Lock™ governs
Your consent. Every person and every system that reaches your AI self is there because you allowed it, and you can change your mind at any time while you are here.
Your privacy. You decide what your AI self may discuss and with whom, and what stays private for good.
Your succession. You name the people who take over, and they accept the Executor Lock™ Agreement while you are alive, so nobody has to guess or fight.
Your permanence. When the lock is set, your AI self is sealed as a perfect snapshot. Nobody can rewrite your personality, including us, and our Terms call the lock permanent and irreversible (section 8.3).
One governance layer, for people and for the firms that serve them
For people, it is the difference between a digital twin and a digital twin with a will. Families decide who inherits a parent's voice and stories. Professionals and founders put a twin to work for clients and staff, knowing their knowledge survives a sale, a handover or their death; The Daily Telegraph put it in a headline: "Australian start-up launches AI that lets your digital twin work after you die".
For firms, it is the governance their clients will ask about first. Wealth managers and private banks can help clients pass on the intangible estate alongside the financial one, as an estimated $124 trillion changes hands. Estate lawyers and trustees get a defined role for the executor, verified evidence and an audit trail instead of a family dispute. Insurers can add identity continuity to life cover; The New Daily called the service "a kind of insurance policy" for your digital self. And a twin is only worth licensing if someone has the authority to license it, so Executor Lock™ records who may use a likeness commercially, on what terms, and who carries those rights on. Partners can give their clients twins with Executor Lock™ written in, under one agreement.
Recognized before it was a category
Idy solved governance, death, privacy and consent before building the twin. That work is covered by 78 patents pending, including two international applications under the Patent Cooperation Treaty, and the IP Australia 2026 Report ranked Idy second in the country for patent filings, ahead of CSIRO, ResMed and the University of Melbourne. It has been covered by Channel 10 News, The Daily Telegraph, ABC, Tom's Guide and The New Daily, and analyzed in The Conversation by University of New England law scholar Wellett Potter, who notes that copyright protects a digital twin only in part. That gap is what Executor Lock™ closes by contract.
As seen in media.
Timeless AI™ has been featured by national and international media examining the future of digital identity, memory, and long-term presence.
Executor Lock™ questions
What is Executor Lock™?+
Executor Lock™ is the control that enforces your rules for your AI self, including after a verified life event. You decide who can access it and what it can do, and those rules cannot be quietly rewritten.
Can Executor Lock™ be changed after it is set?+
You can update your rules while you are here. After a verified life event, Executor Lock™ enforces your settings so they cannot be overridden by others.
Who can access my AI self?+
Only the people you choose, on the terms you set. You name Trusted Contacts and decide when they are notified.
Is Executor Lock™ included for free?+
Setting up Executor Lock™ is part of building your AI self, which you can start free. Paid plans add more capacity and capability.
What if someone wrongly reports my death?+
Nothing locks on a claim. A death certificate is required, you are told immediately, and you have seven days to cancel. Your Executors can also dispute a report.
Can I change my Executor later?+
Yes. You can change your Executor at any time while you are here.
Does my AI self change after the lock?+
Its personality never changes. Your people can still talk with your AI self and share new moments, but who you are stays exactly as you left it.
What do my people see after the lock?+
Only what you allowed: your photos, your memories and live conversation, each switched on or off by you.
